Sant Jaume’s church

This church replaced the old one and was placed beside it.

The project was designed by the construction masters of the church of Ulldemolins and its director of works was Joan Mas. In 1593 began its construction, and was inaugurated on July 26, 1617.

It is a Renaissance styled temple of great width with side chapels that are connected.

To the left side of the front one you can observe the belfry, of rectangular shape, constructed in 1877.

The enclosure was burned in 1936 due to the Civil war and was reconstructed in 1944.

Since 1972 the chapel of the Holiest contains the remains of a natal son, the devout person Bonaventura Gran Peris (1620-1684).
